Pressure pool cleaners attach to the pressure side (return jets) of your pool system. These automatic pool cleaners take the pressurized water to drive the mechanisms within it to clean your pool.
Pressure pool cleaners have their own cleaning bags (think of old-school vacuum cleaners) which trap any dirt and debris that gets picked up from the pool. One of the biggest draws for pressure pool cleaners is that they can handle large pieces of debris like it was nothing. This eliminates the need to pre-clean your pool with a leaf rake or leaf shovel.
Unmatched Cleaning Power
Unlike robotic pool cleaners and suction side pool cleaners which just dislodge dirt and debris and gently catch them in their compartments or hoses, pressure pool cleaners have the power to actually “suck” in dirt, debris, and even small solid pieces of debris like rocks or acorns! Their large capacity bags also means that pressure pool cleaners can go for multiple pool cleaning cycles without having to empty out the bag (although it’s best practice to clean the waste bag after every cycle)
The need for booster pumps
This cleaning power comes at a price though. Pressure pool cleaners need a dedicated booster pump for them to reach optimum operating pressure. The pressure coming from your pool’s pump isn’t enough for it to power a pressure pool cleaner after that water has gone through your filter system (and any other post-pump attachments like chlorinators, heaters, and others).
If you already have a booster pump and your pool is already plumbed to properly ultilise pressure pool cleaners then we recommend getting one to get the most from your system. Mr Pool Man also stocks the widest range of pressure pool cleaner spare parts so you won't have to worry about running out of parts for any maintenance work down the line!
If your pool isn’t plumbed for pressure pool cleaners and you don’t have a booster pump yet then we seriously urge you to consider getting a robotic pool cleaner like the Zodiac TornaX TX30. They’re the newest in pool cleaning technology and they require no additional work to be done on your pool while still providing excellent cleaning power. Oh, and did we mention they look hella cool as well?
