The 5-Day Blueprint

Swipe to see the journey
Phase 01: Hard Green

The Starting Point

Salam J**** started with a pool that had completely turned. It was a 'hard green' swamp where you couldn't even see the bottom.

Expert Tip:

"Algae blooms happen fast. The key is acting within the first 24 hours to prevent deep liner staining."

Phase 02: Shocking

Killing the Algae

We initiated a heavy chlorine shock and 24/7 filtration to turn live green algae into dead grey organic matter.

Expert Tip:

"If the water stays green, you haven't reached breakpoint chlorination. Keep levels high."

Phase 03: Testing

Chemical Precision

Analyzing test strips for Free Chlorine, pH, and Alkalinity ensured the water was chemically ready for clearing.

Expert Tip:

"Balance pH before clearing. Flocculants often fail if pH is above 7.8."

Phase 04: Clearing

The Blue Shift

Water shifted to cloudy blue. Added Algaecide and pH Down to start the settling and polishing process.

Expert Tip:

"Cloudy blue means the algae is dead. Now the filter needs to do the heavy lifting."

Phase 05: Success

Amazing Results

Total transformation. After following step-by-step guidance, the pool is sparkling and ready for swimming.

Expert Tip:

"Maintain a low-dose algaecide weekly to ensure you never repeat this recovery process."

Expert Support. No Guesswork.

03/09/2026Salam J****
I do I bought it from Bunnings
Luke S.03/09/2026
Keep me updated, I can provide you with step by step daily instructs and walk you through this entire process if required. Firstly add chlorine and run the pump overnight, do this right away :)
TuesdaySalam J****
Hi there I added chlorine and had the pump run overnight and still running
Luke S.Tuesday
Hi Salam, Scrub the entire pool, clean the filter and then keep the chlorine high and also keep the filtration running. Once we can see the bottom, we can shut the pump off, allow all to settle to the floor, then vacuum out. Keep the pool cleaner out of the pool throughout the treatment.
WednesdaySalam J****
Hi there next step has been done
Luke S.Wednesday
Thanks Salam, Keep the chlorine high and the pump running, clean the filter regularly, it will become blocked very quickly. Please forward an image update.
WednesdaySalam J****
You mean keep the sand filter clean?
Luke S.Wednesday
Yes, conduct a backwash, the filter will be full very quickly :)
ThursdaySalam J****
Hi there what's the next step
Luke S.Thursday
Please forward a current image of how the pools looking, this will advise me where we are currently at within the process :)
ThursdaySalam J****
It's gone from very hard green pool to kind of a mix of light green and blue and cloudy
Luke S.Thursday
Perfect, Won't be long now. Keep the chlorine high, apply the black spot remover now (dissolve in a bucket of water and disperse through out the pool) and continue to keep the pump running. Correct ph should be kept within range of 7.2-7.6. The addition of a flocculant is a worthy inclusion. Add this, circulate for 3 hours, then shut the pump off, let all particles settle to the floor then vacuum to waste.
ThursdaySalam J****
Total chlorine 10. Free chlorine very high. Ph high end. Total alkalinity 80 okay. Cyauric acid ok. Total hardness very low.
Luke S.Thursday
Maintain the chlorine high, keep the filtration running, apply the floc, won't hurt to continue scrubbing and vacuum to waste. Let me know what it looks like tomorrow:)
FridaySalam J****
Good morning today the pool looks 10 times better looking more blue and water looks more clear
Luke S.Friday
We are getting there. Apply 500ml of hydrochloric acid and a clarifier, this is almost completed :). The ph down will reduce the ph, same as by applying hydrochloric acid (only much safer) use this right away. The algaecide can also be applied now.
FridaySalam J****
Do I need to pre mix both? Or just put it in the skimmer basket
Luke S.Friday
Dissolve the ph down in a bucket of water and disperse directly into the pool, the algaecide can be added to the skimmer box :)
SaturdaySalam J****
Good morning amazing results
