The Payoff of Proper Pool Care
Spending 20 minutes a week with the right tools saves you thousands in repairs, chemicals, and water replacements.
Regular cleaning prevents scale buildup and equipment corrosion, extending the life of your pump, filter, and pool surfaces for years.
Removing debris promptly reduces the load on your sanitisers β your chlorine goes further and your water stays clearer and safer for swimmers.
Ergonomic, purpose-built tools cut your maintenance routine in half. Spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your pool.
A clean filter works at full efficiency, meaning your chemicals work harder. Less chemical top-ups, lower running costs all year.

Pro Tips for a Spotless Pool
Brush Before You Vacuum
Always brush walls and steps first to dislodge algae and dirt, then vacuum. Skipping this step means you're missing half the grime.
Fill Your Hose Underwater
Before attaching your vacuum hose to the skimmer, fill it with water while submerged. This primes the suction and prevents air locks.
Clean Your Filter Monthly
Don't wait for the pressure gauge to spike. A monthly rinse with a Waterwand keeps flow rate optimal and extends cartridge life significantly.
Use Skimmer Socks Always
Skimmer socks trap sunscreen, hair, and fine dust before they reach your filter β dramatically reducing how often you need to clean it.
Test Water Twice a Week
In summer, water chemistry can shift quickly. A quick 7-in-1 test strip dip takes 30 seconds and prevents bigger problems down the track.
Run Your Pump at Night
Most utilities offer off-peak rates. Running your pump during off-peak hours cuts your pool's running cost without any impact on water quality.
Best-Selling Pool Chemicals
The right chemistry is the foundation of a healthy pool. Our most popular Water TechniX chemicals, trusted by thousands of Aussie pool owners.
Pool Hoses β Every Size, Every Pool
A reliable hose is essential for a proper manual vacuum. Choose the right length for your pool size.
These hoses are designed for manual vacuuming only and are not compatible with automatic pool cleaners.

Maintenance Questions, Answered
Brush the walls and floor at least once a week. This dislodges algae before it takes hold and sends loosened dirt to your filter. During peak summer use or after heavy rain, brush more frequently β it's the single most effective preventative step you can take.
Clean when your pressure gauge reads 8β10 PSI above its normal "clean" baseline β typically every 2β6 weeks depending on usage. A Water TechniX Waterwand combined with our Filter Cleaner chemical gives a deep clean that restores flow rate and extends cartridge life considerably.
The most common cause is air in the hose. Before connecting to the skimmer, fill the hose completely underwater to prime the suction. Also check for cracks in the hose, a poorly seated vacuum plate, or a loose connection at the vacuum head. Any air entering the line will kill suction immediately.
Run your pump 8β10 hours per day in summer to turn over the full volume of water at least once. In winter, 4β6 hours is typically sufficient. Running at off-peak power times reduces electricity costs without affecting water quality.
Start by testing your water β cloudy water is usually caused by unbalanced chemistry or a dirty filter. If chemistry is correct, a clarifier helps your filter capture fine particles. For seriously cloudy water, our Super Floc drops all suspended particles to the floor so you can vacuum them up directly. Clean your filter after this process.
Take your sample from elbow-depth, away from return jets and the skimmer β surface water gives inaccurate readings. Our 7-in-1 test strips check chlorine, pH, alkalinity, cyanuric acid, and more in one dip. Test at least twice a week in summer and once a week in winter.
