Follow this quick and easy expert-approved guide to restore your pool’s sparkle in just 24-72 hours.
Important Note on Circulation
Your pump and filter must be running continuously from the start to the end of the treatment (24-72 hours). Without constant circulation, the chemicals will not mix properly and the treatment may not be effective, and it could harm your pool's surface.
Add pH Down
For an average 50,000L pool, add 500g of pH Down directly to the skimmer. This is a critical first step as high pH levels can make chlorine ineffective. Important: Before adding any chemicals, ensure you scoop or vacuum out as much physical debris (dead leaves, dirt) as possible. Debris causes high phosphates which feed algae, and leaving it in will cancel out the chemicals.
Add Algaecide
Wait 10 minutes, then add 0.5L of your Algaecide to the skimmer. This powerful formula will begin to attack the green algae in your pool.
Add Blackspot Remover
Wait another 10 minutes, then add 500g of the Blackspot Remover (High-Dose Chlorine) to the skimmer. This extra-strong dose will handle even the toughest algae. Note: If your algae has already reached the DARK GREEN stage, we suggest adding 1kg of Blackspot Remover. If you don’t see a change in 24 hours, repeat steps 1-3. You will have enough chemical left over.
Why use Blackspot Remover for Green Algae?
It's basically High-Dose Chlorine! Even if you don't have blackspot algae yet, we use this powerful formula because it is far more efficient at penetrating and killing extremely heavy green algae blooms than standard liquid chlorine. It ensures a complete kill to prevent the algae from returning.

For Pools with Sand/Media Filters
Floc & Settle
If the pool is still cloudy after the first 24 hours of circulation, it's time to floc. Top up your pool until it's almost overflowing. Turn off the pump, set the multiport to RECIRCULATE, then turn the pump back on and add the flocculant to your skimmer. Run for 2-3 hours, then turn the pump off and let the sediment settle for 24 hours.
Vacuum to Waste
Turn the multiport to WASTE and manually vacuum the settled residue from the floor, watching the water level closely. When finished, shut down the pump, rinse the filter for a few minutes, then set the multiport back to FILTER.
For Pools with Cartridge Filters
Clean the Filter Frequently
Do NOT use flocculant. Instead, monitor your pressure gauge and clean the filter cartridge element frequently throughout the process. The filter will be working overtime, so cleaning it multiple times, especially during the first 24-48 hours, is essential to maintain efficiency. We recommend keeping a second, clean cartridge on hand to swap in and out.
Monitor & Repeat
Keep a close eye on your filter pressure and clean the element as needed. Your clarifier will clump the particles, and your clean filter will remove them, giving you a clean and clear pool. If the pool is not completely clear after 24 hours, repeat the initial chemical dosage (Steps 1-3).
Final Step for All Pools
Test & Rebalance Water
After the pool is clear, get a water test to confirm your chemical levels. Rebalance your water chemistry, then add a final dose of phosphate remover and algaecide to prevent future outbreaks. Note: We don't recommend swimming until levels are rebalanced, as the water may be super-chlorinated. Visit our Free Water Testing page for help.

Note: To use it, just drop it into your skimmer basket and watch the cloudiness go away. The pump and filter should be kept running throughout the treatment and at the very least 24 hours.
After the powerful chemicals have done their job, the remaining dead algae and other particles can cause cloudiness. This is where your free clarifier comes in, clumping these tiny particles together so your filter can easily capture them.
Important Notes on Application
- ALWAYS add chemicals to your skimmer box. Do not add them directly to your pool water. This allows the pump and filter to properly dilute the powerful formulas before they are recirculated, which protects your pool's surfaces. This method ensures our bundle is safe to use on concrete, fibreglass, and vinyl pools.
- DO NOT DRAIN YOUR POOL. The hydrostatic pressure in the ground can cause your pool to "pop" out or "cave in," a major structural risk, especially for fibreglass pools. Trust the process—our bundle is designed to clear your pool without this unnecessary and dangerous step.
