Your Pool's Secret Weapon Against Stains

Our formula works smarter, not harder, to lift stains without damaging your pool.

A Stain-Free Pool in 6 Simple Steps

Follow our guide to get the best results and restore your pool's sparkle. It's easier than you think!

Lower Chlorine

Reduce chlorine to 0-1 ppm. High chlorine neutralises the stain remover. For saltwater pools, turn the chlorinator cell off during treatment.

Adjust pH

Aim for a pH of 7.6 using pH Down or pH Up. This creates the optimal environment for the formula to dissolve tough stains.

Apply Product

With the pump OFF, sprinkle the powder directly onto stains. For walls, use the 'sock trick' (see our pro-tips below). Let it sit for a few hours.

Brush Gently

After 1-2 hours, gently scrub the treated areas with a suitable pool brush. The stains should lift away easily without harsh scrubbing.

Check Dosage

Use 1kg per 50,000L for a full pool treatment. For spot treatments, just apply a small amount as needed. Older stains may need a repeat dose.

Rebalance & Prevent

Once stains are gone, rebalance your water. Aim for pH 7.2-7.6 (using pH Up/Down) and Chlorine 1.5ppm (Winter) or 3.0ppm (Summer). Use a Metal Sequestrant to prevent future stains.

Got Stains in Stubborn Places?

Try these pro-tips for targeted stain removal.

For Tricky Wall Stains

Pop the powder in a sock, scrub, then hang it over the spot. It will slowly release the formula right onto the stain overnight.

For Hard-to-Reach Floor Stains

Use the old PVC pipe trick—pour the powder straight through it for a precision drop. Bullseye, every time.

Pool Gone Cloudy After Treatment?

Don't worry, this is common. Here’s how to get your water crystal clear again.

It’s not uncommon for pool water to turn cloudy after using Water TechniX Stain Remover. This is usually due to the product lowering the pH of your pool water as part of the treatment process. When pH drops too low (around 7.2), water clarity can be affected.

  • Test & Balance - Use test strips to check pH and chlorine. Adjust pH to 7.2-7.6 and chlorine to 1–3 ppm.
  • Stabilise pH - Add an alkalinity increaser (buffer) to maintain stable pH levels and prevent future fluctuations.
  • Clarify Water - Use a flocculant for sand filters or a clarifier for cartridge filters to bind fine particles.
  • Clean Filter - Clean your filter thoroughly during and after treatment to remove residue and captured particles.
  • Run Pump - Keep your pump running continuously. Your water should return to clear within a few days.
  • Prevent Future Stains - Use a metal remover as a final, proactive measure to stop stains from coming back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your top questions about the Water TechniX Stain Remover, answered.

Absolutely. The process is the same, with one crucial step: you must turn your saltwater chlorinator cell OFF before you begin treatment. Since the cell produces chlorine, leaving it on will neutralize the stain remover. Once the treatment is complete and you begin re-balancing your water, you can turn the cell back on.
