Reduce chlorine to 0-1 ppm. High chlorine neutralises the stain remover. For saltwater pools, turn the chlorinator cell off during treatment.
Aim for a pH of 7.6 using pH Down or pH Up. This creates the optimal environment for the formula to dissolve tough stains.
With the pump OFF, sprinkle the powder directly onto stains. For walls, use the 'sock trick' (see our pro-tips below). Let it sit for a few hours.
After 1-2 hours, gently scrub the treated areas with a suitable pool brush. The stains should lift away easily without harsh scrubbing.
Use 1kg per 50,000L for a full pool treatment. For spot treatments, just apply a small amount as needed. Older stains may need a repeat dose.
Once stains are gone, rebalance your water. Aim for pH 7.2-7.6 (using pH Up/Down) and Chlorine 1.5ppm (Winter) or 3.0ppm (Summer). Use a Metal Sequestrant to prevent future stains.
