Surface Mount

Water TechniX Vivid

★★★★★ (800+ Reviews)

The easiest way to upgrade your pool light. The Vivid is a universal surface-mount retro-fit. No pool draining, no new conduit, no electrician drama beyond the wire connection. Works with the cable you already have.

LED upgrade today vs $120–$200/yr on halogen

Halogen bulbs burn out every 1-2 years and chew power. LED pays for itself inside 18 months.

Wet Niche Premium

Water TechniX Aura

★★★★★ (400+ Reviews)

The premium niche replacement — built to outlast and outshine the bulb you're replacing. The Aura is the go-to upgrade for existing niche lights including Spa Electrics WNRX and Aqua-Quip QC series. Same footprint, dramatically better output and efficiency.

LED niche upgrade vs $120–$200/yr halogen costs

Halogen niche bulbs fail every 12-18 months and run hot. The Aura is the last light your niche will ever need.

Power Source

Water TechniX LinX Transformer

The essential power source for a safe, stable 12V AC pool light system. The LinX protects your lights from power fluctuations. Required if you're setting up a new system or replacing a faulty transformer. Pairs with any Vivid or Aura light above.

Do I need one? If you're replacing an old halogen, your existing transformer will likely work. If setting up from scratch or your transformer is faulty, the LinX is what you need.
Hassle-Free Setup

Installation in 3 Simple Steps

Our retro-fit lights replace 99% of existing pool lights. No pool draining, no new conduit. Most pools done in under an hour.

1

Remove Old Light

Detach your existing surface-mount or niche light. Our system works with the cable you already have in the wall. No new conduit needed.

2

Fit the Bracket

Screw the universal retro-fit bracket using existing holes. No drilling into your pool liner or concrete. Same footprint every time.

3

Connect and Click

Connect the wires (consult a licensed electrician), coil the cable neatly, and click the new light into the bracket. Done.

"Replaced our old halogen niche light with the Aura LED. The difference is night and day. So much brighter and the blue is stunning. Halogen was costing us a fortune."

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Our Vivid and Aura retro-fit pool lights use a universal bracket system designed to replace most Australian pool lights including Spa Electrics, AstralPool, Aqua-Quip, Sunline, and PAL Lighting. In most cases your existing transformer works too.

A halogen pool light typically burns 300W to 500W and needs replacing every 12 to 18 months at $30 to $60 per bulb plus electrician callout fees. Our LED uses 30W to 45W and lasts 50,000+ hours with zero bulb changes. Most pool owners save $120 to $200 per year on running costs alone. The light pays for itself inside 18 months.

No. For surface mount lights like the Vivid, the fixture is pulled to the pool deck, allowing you to change the light without draining. You simply remove the old fixture, connect the new LED light, and reinstall. Always have a licensed electrician do the wiring work.

Multi-colour lights use a simple on/off cycling function. Flick the power switch on and off quickly to cycle through colour modes. When you reach your preferred colour or mode, leave the light on for about 10 seconds to lock it in. It will recall that setting each time it powers on.

If you're replacing an old halogen light, you likely already have a compatible 12V transformer. Our retro-fit lights are designed to work with existing equipment. Verify the wattage output of your transformer matches the total wattage of all lights you're powering. If you need a new one, the Water TechniX LinX transformer is the recommended pairing.

The Vivid is a surface-mount light. It mounts to the pool wall surface using a universal bracket and suits most Australian pools. The Aura is a wet-niche light. It sits inside a recessed niche in the pool wall and is the upgrade path for pools that already have a niche-style fitting. If you're unsure which type you have, look at your existing light: if it protrudes from the wall, it's surface mount; if it sits flush in a cavity, it's niche.

One Water TechniX LED light comfortably illuminates pools up to 8m x 4m. For larger pools, two lights positioned at each end provide even coverage. The Pure White model is ideal for maximum brightness across bigger areas.

In most cases, yes. If your existing transformer outputs 12V AC and has enough wattage capacity for the lights you're running, it will work with our LED lights. Check the label on your transformer — if it's rated for the total wattage of all connected lights plus a 20% buffer, you're good to go.

Yes. While the physical fitting of the light into the bracket is straightforward, the wiring connection to the transformer must be done by a licensed electrician. This ensures your installation is safe, compliant, and covered by warranty.

If you suspect a leak, turn off power to the light immediately and contact a licensed electrician. Never attempt to service a pool light you suspect has a fault or water ingress. For lights that simply aren't turning on, first check the circuit breaker and transformer output before assuming the light itself has failed.
